Human Design

Human Design combines elements of astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, the chakra system, and quantum physics to create a unique “BodyGraph” chart. Using your birth date, time, and location, Human Design maps your energetic blueprint and life purpose in a way that goes beyond traditional astrology.

Key Components of Human Design

Planetary Placements

  • Like astrology, Human Design uses the positions of celestial bodies at your birth. It also considers placements 88 days before birth (unconscious design) to reflect your innate tendencies.
  • Each planet is assigned a meaning (e.g., Sun = identity, Moon = emotions, Mercury = communication).

Gates and Lines

  • The BodyGraph divides the sky into 64 “gates,” based on the I Ching’s hexagrams. Each gate represents a specific energy or trait.
  • Gates are further divided into six lines, adding depth and nuance to your chart.

Centers

  • The BodyGraph features nine energy centers, similar to the chakras. These can be defined (active) or undefined (flexible).
  • Centers influence how you process energy, make decisions, and interact with others.

Type and Strategy

  • Based on your chart, you are assigned one of five Types: Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, Manifestor, or Reflector.
  • Each Type has a unique Strategy for decision-making and interacting with the world.

Incarnation Cross

  • This aspect represents your life purpose and is calculated from four key planetary placements: Conscious and Unconscious Sun and Earth.
  • The Incarnation Cross accounts for about 70% of your energetic makeup.

Conscious vs. Unconscious

  • Black (Conscious): Traits you’re aware of and can recognize in yourself.
  • Red (Unconscious): Innate tendencies that operate beneath awareness but still influence your behavior and choices.
